Your workouts stay under your control. NodLift does not send workout plans, weights or history to a server of ours.

No account or ads. On Android, ML Kit sends technical metrics to Google.

Workout recognition runs on your device: photos and text are not sent to Google or a NodLift server.

1. Data in the app

NodLift stores workout plans, exercises, sets, target reps, rest times, weights and session history locally. It also saves your preferences, gesture settings and calibration test results so they’re available next time.

This data is used to manage your workout, show progress and resume an interrupted session. It is not uploaded to a developer database. NodLift does not include its own usage analytics, advertising networks or profiling systems. The Android version uses Google ML Kit for text recognition; the technical metrics sent by this SDK are described below.

Diagnostic logs are generated on your device to support operation and troubleshooting. NodLift does not send them to the developer.

Workout import and on-device recognition

If you choose to import a photo, a PDF or a text file, NodLift reads and recognizes the plan on your device. On iPhone it can use Apple Intelligence, when available, or local recognition for common formats. On Android, text in photos and PDF pages is recognized on-device with Google ML Kit, using the model included in the app; text files are read on the phone. According to ML Kit’s privacy documentation, the contents of photos and documents and the recognized text are not sent to Google servers for recognition. NodLift does not send them to its own server.

Google ML Kit technical metrics (Android only)

When ML Kit is used on Android, its SDK sends technical metrics to Google for diagnostics and usage analytics. These may include device and app information (such as device model, operating system version, package name and app version), a per-installation identifier that is not intended to uniquely identify a person or physical device, processing times, image format and resolution, input and output sizes, feature version, technical events and any error codes. They do not include imported images or recognized text. According to ML Kit’s Android data disclosure, this data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS and is not transferred to third parties. Google also states that it uses the metrics to measure, maintain and improve ML Kit and detect misuse. NodLift does not receive these metrics.

You can review and edit recognized exercises before saving the plan. If you later choose to sync it with Apple Watch or export it, the data handling described on this page applies.

Widgets

Widgets read the data needed to display your chosen plan, session status and today’s summary from the local container shared by the app and its extension. This data is not sent to a server. You decide whether to add a widget to your Home Screen or Lock Screen: anyone looking at your screen may see the information displayed in it.

Notifications

If you allow them, end-of-rest notifications are scheduled by the iPhone itself: no server sends them and their content stays on the device.

2. AirPods, Health and Apple Watch

AirPods motion

With motion access permission, NodLift processes sensor data from compatible headphones on your device to recognize head gestures. During guided tests, samples are analyzed locally to adjust recognition. The app does not record microphone audio.

Apple Health

On supported devices, NodLift can save strength training workouts to Health, including details such as start, end and duration, if you allow it to write workouts. The app does not request permission to read your Health history. You can change this permission in Health settings.

Storage, optional iCloud sync and sharing of Health data depend on your Apple settings. See Apple’s Health and Privacy information.

Syncing with Apple Watch

If you use the app on your paired Watch, workout plans, weights, results and workout status are exchanged between your devices using Apple’s WatchConnectivity system. NodLift does not use its own cloud service for this sync.

3. Retention and control

Local data is kept until you delete it or remove the app from the relevant device. You can edit or delete plans and weights in the app. Removing the app from one device does not automatically delete copies on other devices, in backups or in Health.

Device and Health data backups are managed by Apple according to your settings. You can separately manage data stored in Health and revoke Health and motion permissions. The developer cannot remotely access or delete your local data.

4. This website

The website uses no cookies, data collection forms, analytics or advertising.

The nodlift.it website is hosted by OVHcloud. Like any hosting service, its servers log technical browsing data, such as IP address, request date and time, and browser information, to operate and secure the website according to theOVHcloud privacy policy. This data is separate from workout data in the app.

5. Contact and rights

For NodLift, the data controller for support requests is Andrea Morachioli. You can contact him at support@nodlift.it.
